COMMUNAL COFFEE + NATIVE POPPY

Back in July, I was on a quest to find a florist for a styled bridal shoot I was doing. I searched  for local florists on Instagram, but unfortunately because I had a short time frame, I wasn’t able to go with the typical “florist” as they needed to know in advanced which was totally understandable. So after a while, I was just going to grab a bouquet from the local Ralph’s store down the street. But the day before my shoot, I came across Communal Coffee on Instagram, and realized that they paired with a local floral shop called Native Poppy. I was surprised at the idea of a flower and coffee shop collaboration, because I hadn’t seen anything like it before. I then realized that they had a flower bar, where you can walk in, and pick out flowers and plants for your bouquet without having to place an actual order. So the following morning, I went into Communal Coffee, and headed on over to Native Poppy’s flower bar before my styled shoot that I was doing later that morning. I adored the coffee house vibe there. It was very retro, and hipster, but modern at the same time. When I arrived I knew what colors I wanted apart of the bouquet, and the style, but I had no idea about how to put the bouquet together. One of the florists on staff offered to help me out, and put together the perfect bouquet right in front of me. She listened well to what I wanted and executed beautifully. If you’re a San Diego local, or coming in from out of town, I definitely recommend checking out Communal Coffee and Native Poppy.
