As I’ve been preparing for the start of my graduate program and with New York Fashion Week right around the corner, I was feeling quite inspired during my trip to Milwaukee, WI last week. San Diego is so different in comparison to the “city” life in Milwaukee. When you head to downtown SD, you get a taste of what it’s like to live in a city but you’re still surrounded by sunny beaches, and ocean views. I’m originally from Wisconsin, so I’ve been to Milwaukee several times before. It’s a taste of a big city, in a small town (in retrospect to NY). So it was only right to do a #NYFW inspired outfit while I was in town. It was definitely a switch up from the Cali outfits that I normally do. To me, New York Fashion Week screams oversized jackets! With this Fall trend, you have the ability to wear them over, or off the shoulders, while adding some edginess at the same time. Wearing all black underneath, and putting on a strong, bold lip, adds to that street style look. Fashion week is about rocking it from head to toe. Everything must be on point, and that includes the small details like jewelry. Your jewelry pieces can literally make or break an outfit, so it’s important to keep that in mind.
